Description
Vintage Steamer Trunk - Perfect for Storage or Display.
This Flaxite Branded Trunk from the 1920s is A Charming & Unique Decorative Piece – Complete with Working Key.
With distinctive wooden banding and leather handles, this trunk just oozes charm from the golden age of travel.
True steamer trunks are low profile – they were brought “On Voyage” into the ships cabin and were limited to size. Any trunk larger than roughly 91 x 66 x 35cm is NOT a steamer trunk – It would be a travel trunk that was stored in the ships hold during the trip – “Not Wanted on Voyage” or “Hold” labels were placed on these types of trunks.
ABOUT THE TRUNK: This trunk is not only functional but also stylish, with its wooden banding adding a classic touch to the overall design. Complete with a key, this piece is perfect for storage or as a statement piece in a bedroom or living room.
CONDITION: The external condition of this trunk is good, with age related wear on the corners, edges and bottom. The inner tray is missing.
Please see images for further details. Internally, the trunk is in good condition, with the fabric lining in good vintage condition. The straps that hold the lid open are still strong & complete.
