Antique Large Blue Travel Trunk.

This Large Blue Trunk Makes Quite the Statement!

With wooden banding and taller style, this travel trunk would make an excellent coffee table.

Steamer trunks are low profile – they were brought “On Voyage” into the ships cabin and were limited to size. Any trunk larger than roughly 91 x 66 x 35cm is NOT a steamer trunk – It would be a travel trunk that was stored in the ships hold during the trip – “Not Wanted on Voyage” or “Hold” labels were placed on these types of trunks. This is such a trunk, designed for storing in the ships hold, with items not needed for the journey.

ABOUT THE TRUNK: The blue colour contrasts beautifully with the wooden banding and brass catches. The monitor top is nice and flat and perfect for displaying books & other decorative items or simply a cup of coffee and a magazine.
