ABOUT THE CASE: This antique gentleman’s travelling suitcase is a lovely example. It displays a desirable aged patina, as well as the knocks and scuffs from its years spent in use. The brass catches have a lovely mushroom shape to the top and open with a satisfying “clunk”. The sturdy reinforced leather corners adds some character, whilst the size of the case will provide plenty of internal storage.
ITEM CONDITION: As expected there are age related scuffs and marks, with the underside showing more. The handle also has worn well, although still perfectly usable. It loos like the leather hinge has undergone a repair at some stage, because the stitching is missing. The hinge still works and the internal straps stop the lid from falling back and putting strain on the hinge. Please see images for further information.
