Antique Barrel Top Steamer Trunk. C1920’s with Inner Tray.

ABOUT THE TRUNK: A trunk this size was most likely stored in the hold of a ship, with the “Not Wanted on Voyage” sticker. Indeed, the inclusion of 4 small metal wheels supports this. The inner tray is included, as well as a few travel stickers. The domed “barrel top” and metal handles adds some charm and interest to the trunk, whilst the large interior provides ample storage.

CONDITION: The trunk shows most of the wear on the top, with a few of the wooden slats in slightly worse condition than the others. The small catches work well, but the middle one doesn’t close. The wheels spin freely, making the item easy to move. The inner tray looks like it has undergone a repair, as the base seems to have come detached at some stage. Whilst not strongly repaired, the tray would withstand lighter storage items. The trunk has a few woodworm holes, but these have been treated.
